Research
Globalization and European Integration
In international economics I am working mainly in three research fields:
- Globalization and income distribution
- Regional politics and the location decision of (multinational) firms
- Institutional Heterogeneity in European Integration
General Equilibrium Models with Heterogeneous Agents
Heterogeneous firms are by now standard in models in international economics. Yet, factor markets - the labor market in particular - are characterized by differentiation and heterogeneity. I am working on including these characteristics in general equilibrium models.
Current projects:
- Financial markets with differentiated assets
- Beyond the representative worker
Schumpeters Legacy
My research builds on the ideas of the great Austrian economist in three fields:
- Invariate distributions of economic variables in economics
- The role of entrepreneurs in a dynamic economy - Schumpeter, Walras, Melitz and us
- The role of the banking sectors in financing entrepreneurs' projects
