Miriam Steurer

Miriam Steurer PhD. is a senior Post-Doc at the Institute of Economics at University of Graz, Austria. She obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 2008. She is currently engaged in a number of projects relating to the construction of real-estate statistics. Her special interest lies in applying machine learning methods. She is a member of the Computation Task Force for the international Comparisons Program of the World Bank as well as on the expert panel of the Statistics Department of the IMF. Previously Dr. Steurer has also worked as a consultant for Eurostat advising National Statistical Institutes (NSIs) on the construction of house price indices. Before 2014 she was employed at the “Center for Economic and Innovation Research” at Joanneum-Research Graz, at the “Center for Health Economics Research and Evaluation” at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, and as a lecturer in Economics at the University of New South Wales, Australia.
